The Dengg family supports the work of RollOn Austria!
… and has been for many years
Whether at the annual “Horst Dengg Charity Golf Tournament” or with publicly effective formats that encourage reflection and rethinking, such as the production of the series “Summit Victory”. We can always knock on Angelika and Franz’s door if we need advice or support, says RollOn chairwoman Marianne Hengl.
On Saturday, after the cheque presentation and a leisurely lunch at the Hotel Post, the RollOn team went on a trip to the Ehrwalder Alm in glorious winter weather. The barrier-free gondola took them to the Tiroler Haus where they were warmly welcomed by Elisabeth Dengg and Hannes Kerber.
Hannes Kerber is no stranger to Marianne Hengl. Many years ago, they attended the Elisabethinum, a support center for disabled children, together. They both attended school there and then lost track of each other again. That’s why the encounter on the Ehrwalder Alm was a big surprise for both of them.
While eating Kaiserschmarrn, Hannes Kerber told his success story.
(TT Simone Tschol / 01.01.2018 ):
It was February 9, 1981 that completely changed Hannes Kerber’s life: it was his first day at work. While many other adolescents eagerly await the step into the world of work, for them it represents a piece of normality on their path through life, it was a very special day for the now 62-year-old from Ehrwald. Due to a lack of oxygen at birth, his speech center and fine motor skills were severely impaired. A normal life seemed impossible. However, a meeting between Hannes’ father and Heinz Kluibenschädel (CEO of Tiroler Zugspitzbahn AG at the time still owned by the state) was to change everything.
“My dad came home and said they had work for me at the Zugspitzbahn. I asked what I was supposed to do there. I didn’t even know what the Zugspitzbahn was,” Hannes remembers. After a six-month trial period, he was permanently employed on his “own mini lift”.
Today Hannes Kerber is retired, but twice a week he spends time on the Ehrwalder Alm to visit his colleagues and see how things are going.
