Looking to cool off?
“Water is the driving force of nature.” – The Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci already knew this.
A cool refreshment on hot days: the element of water becomes a recreational factor in the warm season and presents itself in the Tiroler Zugspitz
Arena is very diverse – imposing waterfalls cascade from steep rocky giants into the valley, the mountain peaks are reflected in the crystal-clear lakes, natural spots and beaches invite those seeking peace and quiet to immerse themselves in nature. Let’s immerse ourselves in the element of water and set off to the region’s most beautiful shores…
Water march! Lermoos bathing spots
There is no shortage of water in Lermoos and the surrounding area. Beautiful bathing lakes, idyllic mountain lakes and indoor pools offer a refreshing change when it gets hotter again. The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is built close to the water and leaves neither families nor sports enthusiasts dry.
Hiking, swimming or simply lying in the sun in one of the many small bays: Lake Heiterwanger See with its turquoise-blue water is considered a decathlete in the competition between the best lakes in the region. Every discipline has its place there. From SUP and rowing boats to pedalos and electric boats. Hikers, runners and cyclists also get their money’s worth on the shore and can enjoy the surrounding nature while fishing or barbecuing. Stand-up paddle boards, rowing boats, electric boats and pedal boats can also be hired and between May and October, the MS Margarethe and MS Wilhelm offer boat trips across Lake Heiterwanger See and the Plansee, which is connected to it.

A wooded mountain landscape surrounds the beautifully situated Blindsee lake at 1000 meters below the Fernpass. Thanks to the impressive panoramic views that can be enjoyed on the surrounding meadows and on the stone beach and the mysterious underwater world, the natural bathing lake, which is freely accessible to bathers, attracts many water lovers in summer.
Below Zugspitze in the Wetterstein mountains lies another natural idyll for relaxation and activities: The Eibsee. The refreshing water temperature of 20-22 °C invites the whole family to take a dip on the northern shore with its small pebble bays. Explore the most beautiful corners and small islands of the lake by boat or SUP. All the necessary equipment can be hired directly on site.
Swimming Lermoos
The Panorama Bad Lermoos attracts the whole family to the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena with three swimming pools, a wide water slide with water play garden and a toddler area. On an area of 7000 m² and with an impressive view of the Wetterstein mountains, young and old water rats can enjoy pure bathing fun. The spacious sunbathing lawn is the ideal place to soak up the sun. On the 46-metre-long water slide, a 40-metre-long and 4-metre-wide railing slide with jumps, you can speed down into the cool water. High jumps can be attempted on the giant trampoline. For rainy days, the Ehrwald family pool is the largest indoor pool in the region. A large sports pool, a children’s area with a children’s pool with a splash penguin, a children’s pool with water play animals and a slide as well as a giant tube slide offer plenty of water fun for young and old. The Reutte Nature Park region boasts a pleasant water world. All year round, the various indoor and outdoor pools at Alpentherme Ehrenberg in Tyrol offer variety and action for young and old on an area of over 2000 square meters, coupled with a panoramic view of the Ehrenberg castle ensemble and the surrounding mountains of the Lechtal Alps.
