The Postschlössl, located just 70 meters from our 4-star Superior Hotel Post, is a unique retreat. Its fascinating history dates back to 1560, when, under Emperor Maximilian I and Emperor Charles V, it served as a post station for the imperial postmaster of Füssen and Lermoos. The Alte Post, now known as the Postschlössl, originally served as a family residence and later as a guesthouse. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe himself stayed at this inn during his trip to Italy. The old vaulted ceiling in the ground-floor hallway is just as impressive as the comfortable staircase and the wide hallways, which were unusual for that time. In 2002, the former “Alte Post” underwent a comprehensive renovation and was subsequently renamed “Post Schlössl.” Our Schlössl is a historic gem, and our goal is to preserve it as a welcoming place of comfort and well-being for our guests.
