Autumnal Moments at the Summit
Experience a Fall Hiking Week in Lermoos
Golden autumn days in the mountains, guided hikes, and unforgettable moments at the summit: The hiking week at the Hotel Post Lermoos combines nature, indulgence, and Tyrolean hospitality.
When the mountains display their most beautiful array of colors
Fall paints the mountains around Lermoos in warm shades of gold and red, makes the air clearer, and gives the peaks a particularly intense glow. A season perfect for hikeswhere every step reveals new perspectives.
Trails wind their way around the Hotel Post Lermoos through fragrant alpine meadows, quiet forests, and past crystal-clear mountain lakes. Towering above it all is the Zugspitze—both a majestic companion and an impressive backdrop. Whether it’s a leisurely hike, a scenic summit tour, or a challenging hike: In the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena, everyone can find their own favorite trail. Because sometimes all it takes is fresh mountain air, a sweeping view, and the feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be.
7 Days of Mountain Moments—Hiking Together at the 46th Hiking Week
From September 6 to 13, 2026, the Tyrolean Zugspitze Arena will become a gathering place for everyone who loves the mountains . During the 46th Hiking Week organized by Bergsport Total , participants can look forward to varied hikes, experienced guides, and unique nature experiences.
From Monday through Friday, there are two hikes to choose from each day, ranging in difficulty—from a leisurely scenic trail to a challenging mountain hike. The experienced guides lead the way to impressive peaks, hidden places of power, and special spots that you might otherwise overlook on your own.
Traditionally, the hiking week begins with an informational session in the Zugspitzsaal in Ehrwald. Photos and videos offer a preview of the upcoming hikes. The week in the mountains concludes on a festive note with music, socializing, and a ceremonial presentation of certificates.
Small Trails, Grand Peaks—Discover the Diversity of the Tyrolean Mountains
The selection of hikes during Hiking Week is as varied as the landscape around Lermoos. The Montan Hiking Trail over the Schachtkopf and the Anniversary Trail take you on a journey through the past, past historic mines and impressive natural scenery. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can enjoy the Plattenweg trail to the Gamsalm, while ambitious mountaineers can conquer peaks such as the Igelskopf (2,224 m), Höllkopf, or Daniel (2,340 m).
The Aggenstein Geopath, the panoramic trail along the Wank near Garmisch, and a variety of via ferratas offer unique mountain experiences. A highlight of the week is the Zugspitze: Tours around Germany’s highest mountain offer fascinating glimpses into alpine rock formations, glacial landscapes, and spectacular viewpoints. On a glacier safari and a guided glacier tour, you can experience the world of eternal ice up close.

After an action-packed day in the mountains, it’s time to relax and unwind at the Hotel Post Lermoos.
